All Gen 3 small block parts are exchangable (ls1,ls6,lq4,lq9.......) Some Gen 4 parts will swap but not all (LS2,LS4,LS7.....)

The LS4 is the FWD equivelent to the LS2, with smaller displacement. Rember though the LS1 and LS2 are not the same generation of motor. There are alot of little changes. For example the reluctor wheel on the crank for the crank position sensor. The LS1 I believe is in the 20's and the LS2 is in the 50's, I dont remeber the exact #'s though.

Different block casting for the smaller displacement (only 5.3L). But bolt up locations and what not are the same. You can interchange cams and what not as an example.

IN theory, but why? You can use the 5.3 truck motor, Same thing and it will interchange with an LS1 nicely.
