93-95 got 3.4s mid 95 the 3.8 was introduced. in 95 you could either get a 3.4 or a 3.8; 3.8 was a option and was like 300 bux extra ( I have a 95 bird with a 3.8 and I got the window sticker from it)

your right, kinda sorta, 93-95 had a 3.4 mid 95 the 3.8 was brought in and was used as the standard V6 motor from 96-02 when the F-body was stopped. 3.8s are listed as 200HP and 205-215 TQ.

I dont know much about the 3.4 only what I have read up on. I know that the people that I bought my 95 bird from bought it new, and it had the 3.8 sitting in it when it was pulled onto the lot over in Virginia.

3.8 I believe is very reliable, and I would think its more effecient because the fact that these cars are heavy and the 3.4 might struggle more pulling/lugging it around.
