Best mods

I'm new to Z28's what are some good mods I'll have about 1500 I'm buying a z28 because I can't have a 5spd and Z28 autos are just faster than mustangs. No nitrous or blower or heads I'm talking simple bolt ons.

Thanx,
Arron

Torque Converter! then Headers, Y pipe, catback, intake, filter, exhaust cutout, computer chip.
The TC would drop about 3-5 tenths off your 1/4 mile times on a stock car. I would go with a 2800-3200 stall converter, unless you are primarily going to race it.

He asked for simple bolt ons, not the best ones. While I agree headers and gears are great, headers could take even an experienced mechanic a day to do, and gears must be done by someone who knows what they are doing. Def go with cold air, exhaust, dont get a ypipe until you get headers, aftermarket ypipes create exhaust leaks at the manifolds. Pullies are simple and cheap enough and get you about 7hp. A torque convertor would be great, i dont know much about how hard they are to intsall since i have a M6, but that will make a big differance on an automatic car. Also i had great results when i put my throttle body on, took about 30 minutes and it gave me about 10hp, people will tell you its not worth it but i had great results and all i had done was cold air and pullies at the time. Also, descreen your mass air flow sensor, wont do much, but one of the only free mods thats worth a damn.

CAI, free mods (tb bypass, descreen maf), pcmforless chip, 3:73 gears if you get an a4, cheap set of Drag Radials (nittos), and of coarse the best bang for your buck

This will cost you under $1500 and get you in the 11's with minimal work done to the engine. Plus if you hide it well..cough..air box...cough. Gym bag behind the seat for the bottle. Everybody will think you run high 13's. Never hurts to have 10 cars or so to play with if money is on the line. Now go take care of this problem.

isn't the cheap way to get power is to ad NOS. I thought I saw something yu can pick up a kit for like 4-800. Yu would proably easy 150horses by hitting a switch. The down side I read that it puts like 10-15 thousand miles on the motor everytime you shoot nos into it.. I think If I was racing somone for money thats is what I would use bec yu no it works for sure. Isn't racing quarter mile? I heard changing gears is preety cheap like couple hundred .. Change your gears to 4.10 its another cheap mod.. All depends if you are racing for fun.. All depends if you are racing for fun or money. With nos you can change the horsepower by changing the Jets. Or what I heard with Carb..

TB Bypass (free)
Water Wetter ($5)
160*F thermostat ($15)
LCA brackets ($60)
CAI ($150)
Nitto 555R Drag Radials (~$160/tire, got my GP'd for ~$130)
KBDD SFC's ($180) - this should be at the top for convertibles
3.42:1 gears (depending on which '93 A4 tranny you have)

after that look for headers, cat-back, and definitely a high-stall TQ converter if you can afford one. The higher the stall, the bigger the cam you run later
