Its simply a device you mount in your exhaust system before your mufflers to where when you open it up your exhaust gases will bypass your muffler so you dont have the restriction.

hmm, you know what i was thinking..today i went by the performance shop to look at my friends 02 z28. he just installed hooker headers. as of right now that's all that was on it. when he started it up i swear it sounded like a race car. i wonder if there were any way you could install two cutouts somewhere after your headers. would probably have to run a custom true dual setup bc i doubt there would be any room for a ORY to allow them...idk, just an ideal i thought of...

Just bare in mind that a v6 with a cutout will not sound remotely close to a V8. No one has also seemed to mention that a stock V6 will lose it's butt on the bottom end. I don't know too many competitive V6's out there, but even so if you race you'll lose the bottom end. Of course if your boosting and revving/launching at higher rpm's then were on a different page lol. But I'll assume your fairly stock and DD the car, till I hear otherwise.

I don't suggest doing it to a V6. You will get that ricer farty sound. Even the guys that put on catback systems sound farty imo. Not trying to be mean lol, just trying to save ya some extra headaches.

Btw I have a cutout on my car as well. It's loud as fn hell, actually too loud for my liking. Good for the track though.

Are you serious LOL? Idk what my case is then, cause **************** mine is seriously deafening. I can't hear anything else going on around me when the cutout is open.

I used to drive a 3.4 litre V6 Camaro. And trust me, I wanted it to sound like a V8 sooo bad! There is nothing you can do...it will only sound good with stock exhaust. I put some SLP take-off SS exhaust on mine...and it sounded fine at idle. But once I gave it some gas...it sounded like embarrassing rice.

I like mine and I have a v6.. yes it sounds sweet at idle-2k rpm then above that it gets raspy as heck... but I still like it... I like to be different or original
