Hooker sounds more "old-school" and Magnaflow sounds more "new-school"...just my $.02

Are you just getting the muffler, or whole catback?! Also, are you planning on headers?

I am just planning on the muffler for right now, i will eventually install the rest of the cat back system. As for headers, not anytime in the near future. Not until i run out of bolt-ons and upgrade the cat back system.

honestly you should take care of your exhaust first. There is no sense in putting more air into the engine if you cant get it out fast enough. if you plan on building up the car then do your exhaust from front to back. As for the muffler, just spend the money on a catback now instead of piecing one together later. Magnaflow is an excellent "cheap" catback that sounds great IMO.

magnaflow.... Catback. not just the muffler, the whole system. if you cant swing it right now, wait and save up for it. instead of having to fab your stuff up later, esp since the catback has a larger tubing dia than the stock exhaust meaning you would either have to fab up the muffler to work with the stock size exhaust or buy the muffler that fits the stock exhaust tubing, then have to fab it to mount up to the larger catback system which would then just cause a bottleneck in the exhaust.

Wheres going to be the cheapest place to find the cat-back for magnaflow? Our local shop quoted $550 for the system. Whats my best option?

autoanything.com has it for $476. That's the system w/out the double dual tips...if you want that system it's $705...which seems absurd!

get a shop to order it so it gets sent str8 to where you want to get it installed. summit has it for the same price. That's where I bought mine. the setup is great IMO. I love it. I wish I could get my headers on and Off road Y pipe. that would really make a difference.

Not good enough to install it ourselves?!

Totally kidding man...but if you don't have confidence in yourself installing it, buy it from an exhaust shop so they can fab it in for you, if you wanna do it yourself, and get to know your car better, have it sent to your house, and install it yourself!

I really like the tips that you see on some SS camaros. They look like they stock ones, but are about more rounded and they run them out in the middle of the bumper. Where could i find these? And will they fit in place of the magnaflow tips?

Those are the CME (center mount exhaust) tips, and they're hard to find and expensive. Also, to make them look good, you have to get the rear valance, which can get pretty pricey too.

Yeah the Center Mount Exhaust (CME) is expensive because they don't make it anymore so the only thing you can do is buy it used on ebay for in the for sale sections of sites. I have it as a SLP option on my car and love the look of it. Its not that loud though, I mean it has a good sound but I want louder. I want to do a setup with gmmg and then leave the CME tips. There is a guy that makes his version on the tips if you want me to get a link for you I can.
