Just thinking about the air box I dont know if it would work on a V6 model because the intake is different. The air box actually mounted on the intake
which to me means not as much power since it was sitting on a really hot piece of the motor The reason why they are saying the HP gain it would be basically over a stock air intake unit. You should just get youa cold air unit and the hood and you would be fine ![]() As far as Suncoast I have never read anything bad about them that I can remember so you should have good luck getting the hood from them. |

Yea, DeanasDork, the functional ram air for the SS hood isn't even offered for the V6's. Nobody has developed a ram air kit for the V6 yet. I used to have a V6 til i got my Z a couple of months ago and i always wanted a SS hood but i never found a ram air kit to go with the hood and the V6 motor. I have heard of guys making ram airs for the v6's though by modifying the kits. You'd have to look into that one. If you did get one to work on your motor though, sorry but you wouldn't be able to pull the 20-25 hp V8 gains out of it. It would be about 5-10 because of the V6.
P.S. Try Fiberglass Fabricators. They will ship a prepped and ready to paint SS hood to your door for about $350 i believe. That was the cheapest one i ever found when i had my 6. |
