Question idea...

i was just lookin on jegs.com and an idea hit me...every talks about having SLP LM exhaust and how loud and good it is..so i have an idea. jegs is sellin it for $377 but right now i have the 80 series flowmaster muffler and a cutout on the i pipe. so do yall think it would be stupid to order the LM and wait for it to come in and then take off my exhaust and order another cut out and have that put on the LM and then just sell my old exhaust for however much i can get..do you think someone would buy it..how much you think i could get? is this even a good idea at all? this was just a random thought that popped in my head cuz i was readin the stats on the LM exhaust and it says up to 25 hp can be gained. so if i got that i'm thinkin it would be louder than the exhaust system i have set up right now and then i'd still have some money to get a lid box and a thermostat 160

Personaly I would stay with what you have. I think the flowmaster sounds better then the loadmouth to me. And while you dont get the horsepower as you would with the loudmouth you do have the cutout which should help you in that department.
I would you would be better off using your cutout and saving your money for other mods, and wait to put the loadmouth on then you need too.

aight thanks man. hey i see on your mod you have the SLP cold air kit...do you like that mod cuz i was thinkin about gettin the SLP flowpac but a lot of people are sayin its a waste of money and that all i really need is a lid box and then to save up for other big mods like headers and other things. what do you think i should do? cuz i was wantin to order the flowpac but i don't wanna waste my money if i'm not gonna feel 25 hp gain ya know?

I am not a fan of the flowmasters on f bodies for performance reasons and i think the loud mouth is over rated.. Mufflex makes a awsome catback thats is very well priced and performes bad ass.. they use Spintek mufflers..

http://www.mufflex-performance.com/

check out the ls1 videos and sound clips.. I ran a 4" single outlet catback for a long time before i went to true duals.. Sounded deep with no rasp and didnt come with a over rated price tag..

I did feel the difference when I put the flow pac on, and it was wroth it me. When I had my car dyno that was the only mod I had done at the time and I did almost hit 300 hp and my car was running real rich with a lower then stock rev limiter on it, so it did do some good.

But to add to what Apachedrill said, if you want to do an exhaust I would look around at other systems and see whats out there. I'm running a dynomax muffler that cost me 200 bucks for the catback system and I know its giving me the same performance and sound as the loudmouth for half as much.

i think i'll just keep my exhaust set up that i have for now and then later on down the road i might change it cuz its really loud right now cuz of the cut out its got that deep tone to it..i really should put a sound clip or video up. so you think the flowpac is worth it? did your car sound different after you got it?

My car sounded the same after I put the flowpac on, or at least I didn't notice any difference. I think the kits wroth it. You get the lid, filter, smooths bellows, and the piece of metal that goes along you radiator, don't know whats it called. I got mine for a little under 300 and if you look around you should be ably to find it for that.

yea jegs has it for 270 and they have free shippin but i don't need the K&N filter cuz i already have one so i could just sell that for about 50 bucks or something. how much hp you think that'll put me at with the mods i already have (they're in my sig) i asked a couple of weeks ago and people said i have about 315-320 rwhp

I would think 315 to 320 should be about right.
As I said I had 295 and that was with a messed up PCM tune and the only mod done was the flowpac. Though at the time I was told by the guy doing the dyno (He also tuned camaros) that once I got the computer fixed I would be looking at sround 310 to 315, but havent had it dynoed yet so I dont know what its putting out. I just know the cars fast

330 is still pretty nice...hmm...it would be a fun install...but then again i would really like to have food to eat while i'm in college...hmm...i could spend the 270 sell the filter for 50 so i'm really only spendin 220 and then just keep the rest of the money for a rainy day in college....ah man i'm really leanin towards the flowpac...and then after that i'll be satisified for awhile and then later i'll black out my tail lights...and then i'll get a programmer for my car later later and then i'll get rims waaaay later and then i'll lower it...ah the perfect plan.
