cat cut out

Im proly going to play with my exhuast some more today, Where my y pipe comes down to the cat I want to cut it there and run it down the frame rail and end it before the rear tire, Will it hurt anything that much if I drill a hole in the little unidbody rail to make a hanger?

A couple of small holes for hanger bracket won't do anything re: strength ...you may want to seal them with Temp-rated silcone (or liquid gasket) just to prevent possibilty of moisture getting into the unibody a starting rust.

Are you wanting to put a cut out in place of the cat? and then have a muffler (single) dumped before the rear axel? I have seen it done with no problems .. looks kinda funny from behind due to 1 muffler but does the job

If I had pictures it whould be easy Ill try to get some tommaro, ok where the y-pipe comes down to the cat , I want to cut it off there, And angle it towards the pass side frame rail and mount my muffler under there, and end the exhaust be4 the rear tire, I asked at auto zone and a few guys there have camaros and they said when they make thery own exhaust they just use self tapping screws in the frame rail, I have a arc welder- not the best but it works, So I was just going to take some measurements, get the pieces I need and clamps, clamp everything on first then weld it,

im think ill need a piece of flex pipe somewhere incase I bottom out or anything, so it dosent send all the vibration to the engine, idk lol
