V6 turbo

I am entertaining the thought of putting a turbo on a 4.3 chevy S-10.
Anybody want to shed some light on this for me. I want to bolt a turbo to a fully stock 4.3 V6. How much psi can I run with the stock pistons?
If I were to change pistons and rods for more boost, which kind?

Obviously if I were to pull the engine, I would do things diferent. I want to start without pulling the engine, trans, etc.

I wouldnt think you would be able to go over 5psi with a stock motor and that tranny wont hold up very well to it either If you changed the internals then the sky is the limit, well at least how much the tranny, rearend and chassis can handle lol.

I do have a 4.3 block that I can start fresh with. New crank, rods and pistons. Cam, heads and turbo.

I will look into a syclone or typhoon from GMC.

I've thought about doing a turbo 4.3 in my car a few times. I think it'd be a fun build. I think you should go for it. Is the S10 4x4 or 2 wheel drive?

2WD and lowered. My main goal is to swap a retro '35-'37 chevy truck body on the S10 frame.

Lightweight body, engine and a turbo. Way cool in my book.

I am going with a 4.3 cuz eventually I could build it to turn 9000 rpm. I probably will build it with twin turbo's. Some of the guys here in South Florida run them in airboat races.

I will start with a stock engine with 5-6 psi turbo. This will cost very liitle to start out. I will use it for a dd. I have the extra block to work with. I will build it to handle the twin turbo setup. Once that block is built, I will up the boost on the single turbo til something breaks.

So far, I just have the one block. I need to find a nice little S-10 ext cab with a manual trans for about $3-4K.
