I just bought an 1988 Iroc(lb9 engine). I am planning on restoring it. I think the engine may be running hot. There is a lot of heat comming from the engine as well as when your driving the car. While driving hot air comes in by the foot pedals. I don't think the temp gauge is woking. What can I do? Thanks Punisher.

Welcome to z28.com. Your post would probably get alot more attention if you posted under 3rd generation, Engine. Is your coolant boiling over? To check the cooling system, you can feel the radiator, if it gets warm after a few minutes, then your thermostat, water pump and plumbing are working. You should be able to track down your coolant gauge, (probably in the driver's side cylinder head?) and see ig the wires are connected, and if it looks ok. Are you sure it isn't something more simple, like a stuck heater vent?
