Hey anyone know if I can but a LS1 intake box on my 3.4. I have a spare around the house and know it would give me a little more power then the sock for cheap

see what it is, is no one pays no attention much to the V6 thread.. but ill check in on a thread usually I own a V6 but not much ever gets posted in here so I usually dont even read it!

lol

now then umm no dont put that air lid on their .. for one youll save more money and get more HP off a K&N Air Intake.. or a SLP air intake a CAI cold air induction... they are the best bang for the buck and beginners need more air in and more pushed out before they start with big stuff...

and another thing... How do you have 260HP? and is that on the Flywheel or are you getting that to the rear wheels? and if your getting that to the rear wheels what are your mods?

That is at the fly right now my trany is screwin up so im not getting all my horses.
Mods OH Yes....some my call me crazy for doing this to a v6 but I say "watch this" but the main reason is my dad
well on a differnet and more important note:
-Comp Cams camshaft and valve springs (very nice happy man with those)
-Perfect Circle Piston Rings (with a very small gap )
-Seal Power bearing all the way around
-Had the crank machined
-High Volume Oil pump (no power there but its good to have)
-Pacesetter headers
-80 series dual Flows
-Platnium +4 plugs and 8mm race wire
-Steel fuel lines
--That all i can think of for now but belive you me much more to come.

Oh and the reason behind the LS1 box was becuase i have the full set up from my bros 00Z he got SLP. I mean **************** its free but do you think i would get much of a power gain??

well your car the 3.4 L32 only makes 160 HP stock.. you get about 60HP on your cam... your headers about 15 and your exhaust about 15.. add that together and you got close to what your getting on your flywheel.. I dont mean to be rude but I could run you and literally eat you a new one and all I have is a Cold Air Intake and a Flowmaster Exhaust.. why would this be ?? its because I have about 40HP more than you do stock.. your on the right track though with it and thats really good your making about 230 which is probally what im getting.. but im doing heads and cam so ill be up near 320.. I dont wanna be mean but Id say your estimating that HP way to high..

and you might get 5hp off that LS1 setup.. its proally not even gonna match up right and youll have to fab some stuff together.. you can sell it.. then pick up a K&N CAI from ebay for seriously like 80. and youll get about around 10-15hp.

I dont wanna sound mean but its life.. and I do believe your a very good person with choosing what you did.. the v6 camaro is a great platfrom to start on and ill be the first to say it sure it takes work but with some time when you roll up to a light and a stock Z is sitting their they revv and you revv and then race and you eat him lmao that says something!

so I wanna say hats off to you!

and lets get some more mods done shall we?

hey no worrys man thanks for letting me know about my HP i have not got it on the dyno yet but that number was my guess.

yeh a little fabing would be in order to make it work but whatever im not going to screw with it.

But I would love a race sometime later on. got to get the cold air, trany fixed, comp reprogramed and some other good stuff.

Hats off to you to sir taking the time to mod a v6 that much

Yea man I hear ya.. I probally get that at the Flywheel if im lucky because of exhaust and CAI...

My rebuild is gonna be adding in a CAM that is susposed to make some nice power and get me at the 300mark.. but yeah lol.. anyway If your car is running and driving good right now I wouldnt worry about reprogramming my PCM..

Personally man your on the right track! but next time it comes time for a plug change ditch those Bosch Plat 4s and get some nice real plugs..

You got MSN or AOL ?? because I could talk to you a lot better on their and help you out with your car a lot more then on here..

OK some of us look at the V6 board, no you can't use the LS1 lid but RK Sports does sell one for the V6..
P.S. The filter is the same. I have an extra Holley PowerShot filter if anyone is interested.

why can you not use the LS1 lid? if the filters are the same size shouldn't the lid be the same size too?
