Nitrous on a carb isnt too hard to hook up. Just get a plate kit and slap it under the carb and your ready to roll. Hit up Dragracer1971 with a PM because he is an NX distributor and a sponsor of this wonderful site.

The plate will have the fittings attached to it that you will need to hook your lines too that are coming from your solenoids. So basically its running your feed line from the bottle to the nitrous solenoid, and T-ing off of your fuel system to the fuel solenoid and going to the plate. Its not too difficult at all to setup.

The electrical part is nothing big at all, and yes you want to retard the timing the higher you go. The rule of thumb is 2 degrees for every 50 hp. Most people dont retard anything up to 100 but after that is when you want to start paying close attention to your plugs and a/f mixture.

Would that effect the regular fuel delivery?

With a carb system you must also run a line to the fuel pump , with a small hit you can sometimes use a "T" off the mechanical pump but most recomend a stand alone system for the fuel with a electric pump and seperate fuel system ... the extra fuel is only needed when the solinoid for the N20 is activated otherwise it just bypasses the "T" but the extra fuel must be able to maintain at least 5-7 psi for the system not to go lean (BAD thing to happen)..
