Carbed fuel systems.

For those running carbed cars, I was wondering how you ran your fuel systems. Do you use the stock tank or a fuel cell ? Anyone use the sump kit from Competition Engineering ? If you use the stock tank did you remove the pump and extend a 3/8 line inside the tank? I droped my tank and noticed this was done by the previous owner, the fuel level arm looks beat up and some of the wiring was missing so I was debating on what to do since the tank is out now.

I used the sump from comp. engineering, with a canister fuel filter and aeromotive fuel pump mounted on the bumber with -8 an fuel lines all the way up to the return style regulator with a -6 an return line back to the tank. I have a 4 port regulator, with one port for my fuel pressure guage and fuel pressure safety switch. Another port going to the carbuerator, and another port going to the fuel solenoid. Works great this way with a steady fuel pressure and not a lot of pressure on the fuel pump as you would have with a non-return style regulator.

Ill think Ill get the sump myself. I was feeling kinda lazy and was thinking of shortcuts. But thats usualy when things go wrong. Better do it right the first time.

A sump and some 1/2'' line will make a great difference! no more "dead spots" if you ever had any (got me a carb tank and sump and line .. saving for the pump and reg. ) ahhh ... I cant wait till I finish this car (save money then)
