Gift Help......(guys welcome too)

Ladies....(and guys too) I need some assistance, Kris's bday is coming up here real soon (May 29th) and I have NO idea what to get him. In case youre wondering, Kris is the guy Ive been seeing for awhile now. On his bday it will be 11 weeks....so close to 3 months. I want it to be something good yet not over-kill for a new relationship either. Originally I thought Id get him a nice watch or something, but he doesnt wear them, so its pointless. and he love's his sunglasses so a new pair wouldnt do me much good and I dont want to go the gift certificate route because thats not thoughtful and then he gets to know what i spent. He isnt a car guy so thats out too. He doesnt really collect anything but movies and he has everything known to man. He did just buy his own house last week and my mom suggested getting him something for his new place....but he wont give me any hints towards anything he is trying to do in this place. grrrr ( i think he knows what im going for )

ideas?!!?!? most of you know me, Im the creative, thoughtful, and unique girl....but he is difficult!

if he just bought a house and he gave u no hints, i think a good idea would be to got to home depot, or lowes and get one of those little aprons with pockets in it (the ones in the paint department)

and then in each pocket maybe put like a gift card. You can either get them all to homedepot or lowes (like $5 or 10$ each depending on how much you want to spend) or you can get like one from a home improvment store and one from like best buy or sumthing (cuz wat guy cant find somethign in best buy) LOL

and then you can also fill the pockets with other little things like his favorite candy, or if he has a cd he wants, or watever else u can think of! lol

Kristen that is soo awesome of an idea.

Working on that waht about a small grill and the apron with some grilling utensils in it? Or instead of grilling you could go for like some houshold items like maybe a set of cooking utensils, some all around housold tools like the screw driver hammer that sort of thing. I definately like the apron idea.

a few other things might be to get him the normal household items like the flour and sugar containers. Anything like that that you think a guy would not buy.
Might not be a bad idea to just plan to go out and see what is out there and what hits your fancy. Sometimes a thinking mind thinks too hard and we need visual.

I spent 3hrs over at his new place tonight laying on the floor (he isnt moving his stuff in til tomorrow, hes been doing paint/tiles etc) and just picturing things i could get. Im going to make some contemporary/earthy type candle holders with rock/stones in it to go with his fireplace and get an earth color (brownish or gray) vase or glass with rock and get some simple plant like things for his fireplace area. he has this contemp./vintage type pictures for his place.....the 2 for the living room are colorful yet calm of a old house and the other is a older village. and his kitchen picture is vintage bottles (pic) so I think I may try to find some old coke/pepsi bottles that he can put up on his open shelf.

Sounds like good ideas all. I know when I look around our house I'm glad Patty thinks of all those "dumb," little knickknacks. I would NEVER buy plants, candles, wall stuff, or anything like that. Wouldn't even enter my mind.

See you didn't need anybody's help I was gonna suggest a good meal and some pampering afterwards. Every guy likes that.

he isnt a very good gift acceptor he made me feel like crap tonight...

so the story goes like this .....

He just moved into his own house he bought and can have a dog obviously, well i cant have dogs where i live. so his mom is trying to get him to get a dog and he doesnt want one just yet. the other night i said "if i brought a dog home to you, you wouldnt say no" he told me he wouldnt but he wouldnt be happy either. so im not going to do it because who wants a mad boyfriend.

my mom and i went shopping for his bday present and i see this adorable stuffed yellow lab dog....so i was like hmmmm i can freak him out and get him a dog so i got that and a cute little candy thing and runts (another inside story, below)

so we go out to eat tonight and i was like " youre gonna be mad at me..... you have a new addition to your family" he instantly got worried and i slipped the stuffed dog up under the table into his lap, he was furious and thought i got him a real dog.

so we eat....

then he goes to the restroom comes back and i had the runts sitting there and he was like wth...did you feel like spending money on me? I was like grrrrrrrr READ BETWEEN THE LINES HUN its not just buying you things, they mean something. made me feel like crap.

**Runts story** go to rent movies one night, i pay, he picks up runts i tell him to give them to me i'll get them.....he wouldnt do it. gets in the car tells me " id feel bad if you bought them and i wanted to take them home" so i was like " Fine im not eating YOUR runts then" which i did anyways lol. so i figured it would be cute to buy the runts i saw and i can re-fill it for him every so often with his other favorites and be ok.**

but yeah he just doesnt get the little things and i know he is gonna freak if he ever finds out how much money i spent on him today. lol.

welp for his bday i ended up getting him a Cubs picture, with a hat/ball/glove/bat laying on the pitchers mound....its poster size, so i spent a nice chunk of change there. and a light up neon cubs bar sign for his new place that was also kinda expensive and im taking him to dinner one night. he liked the stuff alot and we went out to eat with his family (7 of us) to the best steak house in town and WOW .... talk about expensive. eik!.
