Ss?????

Ok, so I bought this 2000 Ls1 last week for my fiancee, We were pretty excited and everything cause we now have 2 z28's. And when I got the car fax and geico looked up the VIN, both reported it as an SS and a third place reported it as a "coupe" WTF that means I am pretty new to this stuff still and I am just hoping that someone can look at this car and tell me what I am driving.....

Looks like a normal z28 to me. Someone was out of their mind to turn an SS into a Z28 clone. haha.

a coupe simply means it is a 2 door vehicle. thats all that means.

as for the SS...look in the drivers door to see if there is an slp sticker.

Yep, coupe = 2 door, sedan = 4 door...

You've got yourself an SS Coupe, not to be confused with those Camaro Sedans we all see driving around! :P

i think the WU8 is part of the RPO codes on the drivers side door sticker. If its on there, it denotes an SS i believe

Judging by the looks, it's just a Z28. The SS would have the hood scoop and the raised rear spoiler.

Yea you need to see the WU8 on your sticker on the driver door, that means the car was sent to SLP to be turned into a SS

Check the RPO codes and double check you have the correct Vin. If the Vin on the car doesnt match the RPO's you could have a small issue on your hands.

Seems like a normal Z28 to me too.

All SS's are Z28's with extra goodies and badges, maybe that's where the confusion is?
