I drive a pretty decent mix of highway/street. Mostly unmodified engine (plug wires, air filter, FRA mod). and I get 22-23 depending on how hard I drive. Even pure highway I only seem to get 23-24 which I find odd but then again my cruising speed it approx 80mph. I'd be interested in what other people get as well. Oh and I've got an A4.

funny i just did my mileage the other day. i get about 17 to 19 in the city and then the other day i did a day of all highway driving... i went mohegan sun and lost. anyways i got just a hair under 27 on the highway. 75-80 the entire way in 6th gear, i didnt get out of 6th for 100 miles each way, but then again the t56 cars do way better on the highway than the a4 cars.

i case you were wondering on the math.

179 miles on ten gallons city. all city absolutely no highway.
297 miles on eleven gallons on the highway.

yeah the M6 cars do well on highway because of that last gear but they tend to not do as well in the city. I'm still regretting the A4 but its nice when I'm exhausted or the few times I've hurt my leg, that I don't have to shift or worry about it. Granted I don't do much in city driving. Oh well. Nice to hear that my MPG is pretty accurate.

On my LT1 M6 3.73's I can pull 27-28 on the highway if I stay out of it, I've gotten 160 miles on a tank before thanks to DC rush hour, I've pulled 320 on the highway without draining the tank, normally thou I get 25-26 on the highway cause I always have to pass people going extremely slow.

On the 02 M6 SS I'm taking care of gets 27-28 all day long on the highway its has LT's, NX cam and 3.73's. I've heard that putting 275 tires on the cars can hurt you mileage alittle thou.

I got 32 mpg going from NC to OK. Went from Raleigh NC to just past Knoxvill TN on one tank, and that was going through the App. Mountians.

I call BS on that if you are talking about a Z28. I live about an hour north of Knoxville and ive gone through those mountains plenty a time and they will absolutely destroy your mileage.

The v6 camaros dont even get that good of mileage.

It's a 98 z28 6 speed. Call BS all you want but I did not stop for gas once until I got just past Knoxville, I could not belive it myself, I went over all the numbers a few times and it all added up. Just keep it in sixth and cruise at a slow and steady 65mph. I cleaned the air filter, checked the tires and shoved a lot of fuel cleaners and additives down the tank about a month before I left. I get only 15 or so around town.

even on a pure highway run, on an overall flat course, you'd be hard pressed to get 27mpg. I think you messed your numbers up. My guess is that you didn't reset your trip-o-meter when you filled up the time before and added a couple hundred miles to that tank's numbers. Because you're right, its not BS. its actually impossible.

Haha I'm tellin ya man I got 32 MPG. I did not forget to reset, I ALWAYS do that on long trips (and I travel alot), And I only fill up when I'm around 1/8 a tank, so if I would have forgotten to reset it I would have got numbers around 50 mpg, I've gotten 29 and 30 MPG many times before on the highway.
