69 Camaro LT1/4L60E Hybrid Question

I am upgrading my 69 Camaro with a LT1/4L60E from a 95 Z/28. The engine and tranny are installed.

The next issue I found is connecting the shifter lockout linkage. This is the linkage that connects the transmission and the steering column. I upgraded my Horseshoe shifter with a kit from Ecklers such that it is now 4-speed capable. However, the lower shifter lockout linkage is too short (approx 2") and needs an offset.

I checked the local parts suppliers and found no solution. I suppose I will need to modify the existing linkage (cut, splice and weld in new section).

How did you folks handle this challenge?

Randy

Yikers Randy, I am not sure about that one because I have never done the 4L60 conversion. Hopefully someone here knows what you need.

Taking a guess you will need to extend the linkage yourself enless you can find someone out there that has found something that is interchangeable and will work.

I am going to try using Linkage from McMaster-Carr. It looks good in concept. I will advise if it works.

I attached an image of the assy.

The McMaster-Carr linkage worked great! Let me know if anyone needs part numbers and/or photos.
