Bad Cat?

I was wondering if a bad cat can make your car bog down when you accelerate hard. I've had a service engine light for a bad cat for a little over a month and been waiting for some high flow cats and y-pipe to come in stock for the about the same **************** time (I live in MA so i need cats unfortunately) and today my car started to bog when i would hit the gas.
