serious problems!!, need some professional help. Calling all mechanics

Service engine light came on today. When starting to move in first gear, shifter shakes like crazy, and car makes indistinguishable noises. Took car for diagnostic, and cars computer said it was misfiring. Servicetech said that it could be coils, plugs, wires, etc.., or maybe the vehicle computer!! Ouch, I am really ticked off and upset. The car has been fine the last couple of days, and has not been ridden hard at all at anytime recently. Servicetech also said that the computer was showing 3200rpm's at 0mph on the last check just as the service light came on. Anybody have any thoughts??? I am hoping it is not the computer, maybe just something simple like some plugs, wires, etc.. If it is the computer, any way to reset it? Also, exhaust was just put on Saturday night, before that, I had no muffler at all, the y-pipe just emptied exhaust straight out after the cats, could putting an exhaust on with the muffler after not having had one for a while caused some of the backpressure that the car was not used to, into throwing an engine code?? I would really appreciate any help from anyone. The car will be looked at thoroughly tomorrow. Thanks

disconect the battery and the black ground wire that goes from the battery to the wheel well for about 30min. this will allow the computer to run dead and reset. if you have radio lock, unlock it till finished. once you re hook the battery up, drive it hard so the computer resets to your driving habits. if this doesn't solve it, check to make sure all grounds for the computer and coil packs are good. also check the one that usally is on the back of the motor going to the chassi to make sure it is tight. if problem still persists, then take to dealer to do further testing to try and pin point it. hope this helps.

Another way to reset the computer can be found on LS1.com http://www.ls1.com/link_ecm.html
