99 SS idle

Okay so I went with my brother the other day to check out a 99 SS.
We went and looked at it and like it overall.

However when we had the guy start it, it started up good, but a little while after the idle/ engine starting like it was struggling to stay on for a few seconds, then went back to normal, and the cycle continued until it finally started soudning normal.

Test drove it and it was great but I just didn't know about that.

Is that a torque convertor or fuel pump or what?

Please Help

well from what I understand it's pretty much stock so I dont think he put a cam in it. he was the third owner and has had it for about a year. He claims he had a mechanic look at it and everything was fine. However the guy was deaf so he had no idea what i was talking about. As far as the o2 goes, I don't know.

How many miles were on it. very possible just needs a tune-up or the fuel injectors/intake cleaned.

This is probably the case...might also want to check the IAC.

I had a 02 SS have trouble with idle but it was a mix of bad o2's, IAC sensor and a exhaust leak.
