Help With Choosing A New Fan

I am need of purchasing a new fan shroud for my '89 RS. My old one was cut and jury rigged years ago because we didn't know we could just buy a replacement motor for the fan instead of the whole assembly. Recently the shroud has gotten to the point where it will not let the blade spin at all leaving me with no fan in some gnarly heat.

I have checked out prices for a new shroud and am looking at around at least $70. For a little more I can just go with a complete aftermarket fan setup and flow more air to keep the temps down if I am running the car hard.

However, I don't understand how the aftermarket fans work in our cars. Right now the shroud has 4 mounting bolts that hold it in place. Some of the aftermarket ones look like they have 4 mounting bolts, but are in different locations then the stock shroud. So how are they secured and mounted to the radiator/car?

Those after market fans come with a little mounting tab that you put on one side of the radiator then you slide a holder through them and thats how the attach.

ill see if i can take a pic of my electric fans for ya and i am running dual electric fans that i bought from part source. paid i think about 90 bucks for both fans. works awesome! and i got the 454 going in this year. Ill take one for ya when i get home from work later today since the rad is out at the moment. And for those to mount in there is these zip tie looking things that fit through the fins in your rad and clip into a bracket that u stick on the other side of the rad and pull it tight. Ill get the pic for ya and then you will see
