I would not suggest this on a street driven vehicle..............now if it's dedicated drag car................................. |

i have MAAAAAAAAAAANY local people that drag race there 4th gens AND have drag type 15" rims and i believe the only bit of modification that is needed is possibly shaving the caliper to make room and i have NEVER heard of that going south unless someone does it wrong.

15'' wheels can be done on a 4th gen LS1 car...
1. Bogart Drag wheels, Or Billet Specialties (Have to run a small spacer) 2. Grind Calipers to fit other types of Drag Wheels (HIGHLY DANGEROUS AND NOT RECOMMENDED) I would choose option 1 and be safe. The Billet Specialties are more street dedicated then the Bogart's but you have to run a small spacer in the front to get them to clear as with the Bogart's you don't. I don't recommend grinding the calipers in anyway to get rims to clear, its way to dangerous and you would be putting your life and anyone else in the car with you or on the road with you at risk. There was a local guy here Making a pass before a race and had his caliper crack & break causing him not to have brakes at a estimated 130mph, he came out alive with minor injuries but the car was a complete loss. Unless your racing this car I would just run normal street wheels, 16'' or bigger don't even go through the hassle or expense of running a 15'' wheel.

to fit 15" weldracing wheels on a 4th gen you need to run spacers and do a tid-bit of grinding on the calipers.

why wouldn't you? most people who drag race use 15" rims in the rear for the 28" slicks.
depending on the rim you'd probably would have to grind the calipers a little. pretty much just rounding them off a little. if this is for non racing, just cruising around then you should just stick to stock 16" rims. |
