Question theft help...

my buddys 2002 camaro ss was stolen this past weekend. the cops found the car sitting in an allyway behind a dumpster sitting on the rotors. his 1500$ stereo system, chrome rims and brand new tires all gone.. the car was wiped clean so no prints. he got the car back yesterday and the ignition is trashed. we put my spare rims on it to get it off the rotors so that we can move it. we tried the keys and a screwdriver no luck.. how can we hotwire the car so that we can get it moved untill he can get a new ignition switch? any pics of how to will be very helpfull.

Doesn't the ignition key move a steel rod that connects to an ignition module on the steering column? If so, you might be able to manually move the rod up or down and get the car to crank over. On all my other cars, the module sits under the dash panel and is mounted on the steering column.

that doesnt make any sense...because when something like this happens, everything that was stolen wouldnt be replaced with the same stuff...just factory equiptment. If you still need to get it started just unbolt the ignition switch from the column and move the slide to the start position. This would be easier than tryin to squeeze your fingers into the column and sliding the rod.
