LS1 Mileage- How much?

With my other thread in progress about my 162,xxx mile 2000 LS1, I was wondering what everyone else's ages are by comparison...what's the average service life of an LS1 before it's toast?

a) 0-50,000

b) 50,000-100,000

c) 100,000-150,000

d) 150,000-XXX,XXX

Mine has 96k right now, but the previous owner put about 30k on it in just over a year so it has lower miles per year earlier in its life. I think most need general mait. stuff done around 100k, but idk after that.

Haven't even hit 45K w/ mine. Will over the summer though. But thing is. Haven't driven the car yet!
But the 4 previous owners didn't drive it much, as the miles reflect...

You should be able to get most engines to 200k miles with proper maintenance

I've seen 305s with over 350k miles and some over 400k. I see no reason that the LS1 wouldn't do that or more if maintained and not ran to death. They are supposed to have better metals, build tolerances, etc.

I would definitely say well over 150,000 if owned by someone who cares and knows how to take care of it. My brother has almost 130,000 on his 98 Z28 and runs as strong as one straight off the lot. LS1=

I just test drove one that had 208,000 miles on the OD. It was a 1998. They guy commuted to work about 50 miles one way 5 days away. All freeway miles. The thing ran really strong and other then the obvious wear and tear to the exterior and interior seats you'd never know the engine had that many miles. Didn't smoke or burn oil. The car ran really strong. He used synthetic the complete life of the car. I figure who ever bought it could drive it till 250k the way it had been taken care of.
