MSD Plug Wire Covers?

Hey we put the new plugs and plug wires on my car when we put the headers on this weekend and I was wondering if you guys put the metal covers back on over the boots on the wires. I didn't put mine back on, but I'm think that I should put them on after seeing how close they are to the headers and I'm afraid they will melt onto the headers. Just wondering if you guys with the MSD wires put the covers back on or not, thanks.

Haha so you think its worth the trouble to pull the wires and put them back on or should I just bend them so they aren't touching the headers? Right now I've got them bent so they aren't touching but am worried that they will move and rest up against the headers and melt...

It might not be a bad idea. None of them were touching when we put them on, but just to be safe you can. #8 is a whole lotta fun to get on and off, but it might be good for some extra security. It sounds great though man!!!

Yeah I think I'm leaving them off. I don't want to mess with #8 and there are quite a few guys over on tech that said they left theirs off. There was one that was touching when I got home put I bent them all into a place where they weren't touching today so they should be good now. Btw, did we put those shields back on like under the floorboads by the primaries? I've just noticed a little vibration under there and thought that might be it if we didn't put them on. And yeah its sounds and looks good, thanks for the help again. I'll post up a thread about it pry tomorrow after I get some good pictures of the outside of the car and get it tuned.

Unless Matt removed one of those sheilds, I don't remember ever taking one off. Is the vibration right below your feet? There was a peg there where you could mount another hanger to the floor. It may be slightly bumping the floor.

It was those shields that you said would sctrach you all up... but idk. And yeah the vibration is right under my feet. Are you talking about like the bump stop thing peg on the ORY? If so I don't think thats what the vibration is.
