Exclamation turn signal removal

3 years ago i installed clear corners and i cannot for the life of me remember how the hell i got the old ones out and the new ones in. i'm having some issues with my bulbs burning out and my driver side signal is letting water in. i need to remove it to dump the water out and see if i can fix the leakage problem.

how the heck do i get this signal out? i have both bulbs unplugged from the signal but i can't remember if the housing is bolted down or not, it doesn't want to budge and i don't wanna break it...i already scratched it

You have to remove the headlights first. Then there are three bolts that hold the clear corners in place. Two are easy to see and one is upside down in the middle. All are 7 mm. Then slide them out and you might have to pry one the piece on the front bumper. I actually just took mine out today to dump water out of them too... Cheap pieces of $**t.

thats what i was afraid of... i found the bolts...mine only had 2, guess the third one fell out, i saw where it was suppose to go but its not there.

shiiii...i have the halos and when i put them in the driver side (the same side i'm trying to remove the signal from) was broken and so my dad and i improvised and well...it'll only be a big mess if i try and remove that headlight...

damn it..how do you remove the head lights? i can't remember, i remember the brackets where you slide in 2 clips, is that it? or is bolted as well? i can see where the little screws are to adjust the height and angle of the headlights

thanks for the help greg

The headlight housings have one 10mm bolt each. After removing that bolt, they each slide towards the center of the car(until the tabs clear the holes on the thin sheet metal behind the light). Then they pull straight out. After that, three 7mm screws release the turn signal housing(which you know now). What did you rig up on the halos? There are a few options for fixing the wiring so the headlight housings can be removed. It is a must, because that is how you access the corner housings. I have gone through 3 sets of aftermarket clears/whites and they ALL leak. I have taken headlights out about 45 times to try and seal the lenses/pour water out/change bulbs. I find that the easiest way to get the corners out is to slide them to the exterior of the body(so the pointed side of the corners points towards the tip of the bumper). Then you must pry on the sheet metal and pull the housing out - pointed side first.

hopefully tomorrow i can make it home from work early enough to have enough daylight to put everything back together

thanks for the tips guys!

2 Questions:
1. What do you have that you drive besides the Z?
2. Why can't you just do it in the garage if you don't have day light?

harness

Dont let the headlight hang by the harness. Asking for electrical problems. That is why you must solder plugs in the halo harnesses--so that you can disconnect. I have the same thing.

1.My z is my DD but i've been dropping my mom off at work in her car and then i drive to dallas for my job. so i've been using my mom's car.
2.we have a garage but its not for cars, all my dads stuff is in there and there is an extension of a room that enters the garage. so i don't have any place to work on it except my gravel drive way. (my house in college station has a garage...oh how i miss Aggieland)

the headlight is not hanging, its sitting where its suppose to be its just not bolted to the bracket. the halo also has its own plug in locking thing. wiring harness is fine, but thank you!
