If it is getting louder then yes its a sign that it is wearing out. Thats not saying it will die in the next day or so but you might want to look into getting it replaced.

I ran the Walbro 255 pump and it was right at 100 bucks but mine is an LT1 so Im not so sure they are the same. Probably not since you have the returnless fuel system.

you can get a walbro but you most likely will have to modify the bucket, i just got the racetronix kit and it just replaces the stock with no extra modifications

Unless they changed it the Racetronix kit comes with the Walbro pump. At least mine did cause thats what I had on my car, and its the fuel pump that is in my car But you are correct you have to modify it a bit. Just took a dremel and ground some of the parts that kept the pump from sitting flush in the bucket.

lsx have the venturi system that keeps the bucket filled with fuel to keep the pump from burning up or something.
the racetronx kit has a walbro255, it is made to be a direct replacement of the stock pump with no extra modification, unless you get the hotwire, only thing you need to do with that is plug it in. all on the outside of the car.
the regular walbro255 you will have to trim out the bucket for it to fit in i believe. and i'm not sure if it goes fine with the venturi system or if you have to cut the bottom of the bucket.
