More than likely, your alt is dead. Start the car and if the voltage at the battery is below 12 volts, get a couple bills ready to get a new one. I think there is one for sale on here for fiddy

ok, now its acting strange. it will go above the line and be fine, then it will go below, back and forth

Sounds like the reluctor or regulator has went out of it, or it's on it's way. You can always take it to autozone and have it tested.

It takes like 20mins if that to do, I have replace mine a few times and can do it in 15min now, I had a short in the exicter wire, and replaced it a few times before I figured out what it was.

If you can jack the car up and get under it you will need a 15 and a 13, I was taking the whole bracket with the alt. off at once, make sure to unplug the exicter wire and the main power cable off the back being carful not to twist it all up.
It is also a good idea to unhook the battery when taking the alt off as well, unless you like a sparks.
Once you get it out take the alt. out of the bracket and replace it with the new one and just reinstall, its not hard at all.
I am thinking a new alt was around 160ish from advanced auto with a lifetime warrenty on it.
