SS Third Break Light At Nite

Is this third brake light supposed to be on at nite even without me touching the brake??? cause mine is on

the one i have is off.... and it gets activated when u press the brake

You may have a ground issue or your brake light switch may be bad.

so how do i go about this to check it, the only thing i did back there was replace my taillight bulbs with red leds ones, that couldnt of caused it??

Try putting the stock bulbs back in and see what happens.

You could also follow the harness and check for any lose grounds or anywires that might have come lose.

yea but how would me changing the bulbs in the brake light tails affect that? i never changed the top one on the wing?

They are an open loop when they are not on (the LED's). The stock lights have a filliment in them that when the brake is not on, will create a ground. This again says that there is a ground issue, and if you put the old bulbs back in and it fix's is, then you know that you have a ground issue. If I remember right, there is a ground screw back there in the back somewhere that you can clean and tighten.

Another thing that you can do is make a new ground in the rear of the car. Just splice into the stock ground wire and run it to a good body ground.

I'm not sure where the stock ground is at, you just have to look for it.
