a guy down the road just runs straight headers and to tell the truth, it really sounds awsome. obnoxious as "omg, thats just way too loud" or "ok that sound really sucks for a v8"?

both lol, especially when you're inside. but whatever floats your boat. i have true duals dumped at the axles and it's loud, i daily drove it for a while and got used to it, but now that i have an actual daily driver it seems even louder. guess i'm just getting old

mine is my daily driver so i guess i'm used to the noise. even with standard cats on, headers will sill increase sound and hp?

I have stainless steel headers, y pipe, and cat back (deleted cats). Custom tune, fresh roller lifters, plugs, wires, and a lid. My LS1 Z makes 355 hp/385 lb.ft at the ground. Find a tuner that knows what he's doing; universal chips are a waste of time and money. Make it breathe well and then custome tune it.
