Automatic lights...

How do I disable the auto lights on my 97? I wouldn't mind if I had on option for them to be auto, but I hate not being able to have any control over them.

I think I remember hearing it's behind the radio somewhere? I'm getting ready to pull the radio to install some gauges in it's place, so I'd like to know if it's back there.

Thanks,
Steve

Never mind, found a post from about 5 years ago that explains it.

Thanks,
Steve

Hey steve, if you don't mind, post up the link to the thread so that others can read it. Don't reply to the thread, but this is something that might just help others that hate that feature. I know that if I was to do it on my wifes 97, she would be getting pulled over a lot cause of driving without her lights lol.

Actually it was only one post in an entire thread. Most of them were just talking about DRL's.

Someone said that the sensor is in the grill on top of the dash. It's near the red security light. Remove the radio and follow the wires up to the sensor, not to be confused with the wires for the red LED. Then cut the wires and connect them together.

I can't wait to get rid of them. I can't stand not being able to turn my lights off.

Steve
