Thumbs down Ford's trying hard

So I'm at the local Ford dealership yeasterday morning to have the oil changed on one of my service vans, and I have some time to kill so I wonder out to the show room. They have two Saleen Mustangs with 52K price tags on them! Good looking car, but man for the money. The sticker said 375HP. That's WITH the factory supercharger. I was not impressed.
Get this, they also had a Focus N20. Yep, Factory Nitro little pooper. Sticker said it had 152 HP with 75Hp nitro boost. Please, can anyone really buy such a joke? I forgot what the sticker price was, I am sure it was not worth it.
I hope Chevy brings back the Camaro and makes it fast and cheap. Show Ford what and where the real market is.
Just thought I would share my thoughts.
See ya on the road........

That's sweet! I'm saying if your goning to spend the money, why not buy something that will really run? 52K I think will get you an 05 ZO6. More HP, More class, nuff said.

I took my car to the car wash yesterday after work (my wife works there). As I am talking to the manager, a guy pulls in with the SRT10 Ram truck. Suddenly he has a crowd of car wash employees around his truck asking questions. "Is it fast? "can you beat a Corvette?". I approach him and ask him, "how much did your truck cost?" he said 65k. I then ask, "what's your best quarter time". He says to me Mid 12s. I start laughing...everybody around is looking at me like "WTF?". I said, "I got my 95Z for 8K. All I need is a less restricve exhaust, good intake, some NO2, and some good slicks and I can run mid 12s...your truck is a joke." The guy is looking at me now kind of mad. To top things off I ask him if he has run a Z06. He said, "yeah, he beat me." I said, "I thought so", turned and walked away...that was pretty funny.

Years ago I used to race an 69 Nova SS with a 454. Sweet car, my best run without using the n20 was 11.030. Back then, there was this guy who would bring out his old 69 Camaro. I kid you not, it was rusted, and multi colored. Looked like Poop! It even had a little blue smoke coming out of the tail pipes. He would line up and run 10.20's ALL DAY LONG! That Camaro just hooked up are ran it's ass off. Anyway, my point is I have a 99 SS M6 that I gave 16,500.00 for a month ago. I could spend 5K and be eating all those 50K+ cars for lunch. I love Chevrolet! That Saleen I was looking at is way overated.

That's exactly the point I made when I was talking to that guy. You don't need to spend $65k to feed the need for speed.

You know, those trucks don't even LOOK good enough to cost 65K! What a rip-off. I think if I had 65k to spend I would have three really nice Camaros.

I know Saleen is WAY over rated, try this 41,000 for a n/a S 281 coupe putting out 290 Fly wheel horse power, give me a break!! On the other hand, watch out for the Steedas, there is one running around here with 790+ rwhp and it is sick!

a bone stock 68 z28 will run the quarter mile in 13.77 sec at 107 mph

not much different than a 99 bone stock z28.

I used to take on V8 mustangs with just my V6 Firebird. It isn't hard.

Raced an Eclipse on my way home last night UPHILL! What a joke. He paced me at first and I was like "What do you want?" So I stepped a little deeper and he paced me more. So I floored it and so did he. All he saw was exhaust pipes. What are these 4 banger drivers thinking? I'm still stock and destroying them.

I highly doubt u beat v8 mustangs with a v6 firebird....either it was a v6 clone or they werent trying, because when push comes to shove those things still are American Muscle.

Just remember even "crappy" American muscle can be very fast. How about 8.20's from a street car on radial tires?

Depending on what year the Mustangs were, it would be possible for a V6 Firebird to run with them. It certainly wouldn't destroy them though. The 1994-1998's GT's are not exactly rockets. Cobras are another story. A friend of mine just put a Vortech on his 1997 Cobra, and it dynoed at 545HP to the wheels. I thought that was pretty impressive considering he started with 305.
