instrument panel speedo diff 85-130 mph

hi guys again or hi Wade who will probably the 1st to tell me. the dash and gauges also need replacing . i have seen 130 mph and 85 mph[ which is the one in my sis's 81 ] willl the car know if the 130 mph is in and report the correct mph ? thank you , Love, Rachel

the car doesn't tell the speedometer it is a mechanical speedometer so the gears in it are made for the 130 or 85mph so as long as the gears aren't messed up it should read correctly no matter what...

the gears are in the cluster/ or speedo it's self so as long as the gear is the trans it al right it should be hook up + go.. have u made sure the speedo isn't workin.. if you have cruse control unhook the larger cable (the one that runs to the cluster) and hook it up to a drill if it read then ur problem is from there down.. ether the lower speedo cable or the trans gear..
