Free Ram air mod and CAI...

Okay people, I completed the "free ram air mod" yesterday and I could tell a differance in throttle response and power. This is a good thing! My question is, which CAI on the market will work best with this mod? Do they all install basically in the same place? I like the SSRA for 199.00. Looks good. I was going to buy the SLP CAI but the SSRA looks like a better product to me.

Any thoughts?

got to http://www.evlls1.com/gmparts.html
then go to LS1 stuff and find install cold air. This will pop up an Adobe reader page. Within this page are instructions and diagrams for you to build your own CAI box just like the ones that Fast Toys and SLP sell. How much might this cost u ask? 30.00 bucks and some change. The drawback u wonder? U gotta bend the aluminum yourself, but for guys like us that spend every available minute modding our cars it shouldnt really be that hard.
Hope this helps

I have a SLP CAI and I think that its a good quality peice. I would buy it again if I had it to do over. Not really any point in paying alot more for something you cant see and wont performe any better.

I just clicked on the link and it worked for me. Try it again, I was editing the page for spelling.

That is weird. Well, it consist of cutting out the bottom of the air filter box and removing some of the plastic underneath so the engine can breathe better. It is very easy, and I noticed a difference right away.

They also have some other very good mods on their site. Have you tried just typing in the address?

Cool got it! Now I just need to go to wrecking yard and get another set of those pieces. Just incase I decide to put my car back to stock, or if I have to take it in for warranty work, I don't want anyone yipping and yapping at me! Thanks a bunch Sam.

You're welcome. Mine is a 99 and has 34K miles on the clock, so warranty issues were not a concern for me. It's a good site, I thought everyone here knew abut it (at least all the LS1 guys). I really could tell a differance after this mod.
