I think Ford makes great trucks. The Lightning is fast as far as trucks go. Probably beat any other stock truck. But their newer Mustangs and other cars aren't much to desire. The old model Mustangs like fastbacks and such are something to desire and are true classic muscle cars. JMHO.

Whatever! My friends 01 Pontiac GTP auto beats all 5.0s he races! and all he has is a pulley, and catback. He only runs 14.20s at the track, and his 01 Z28 ran 12.85 STOCK!

They cobra's really aren't what they are suppose to be. The new ones are quick, but of course Ford had to bolt a supercharger on it to keep up.

As a matter of fact one of our memebers is a cobra owner (98mstngCOBRA). Maybe he can shed some light on us.

well dude all i know is that i was in his car when he raced a z28, and he beat it....that GTP is BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your friend is a liar! ive been to the race track, its very odd, that most every stock z28 runs completly different times, i mean 12 is fast! my uncles bored 388 only runs 10's.......I saw a 95 stock z28 at the track run 14's! thats the weird things about camaros....haha, it just sux when you get one of the slower ones, my swim coach that has a 2002 z28 ss swears his car does 0-60 in 3 seconds....my friends 67 cobra does that, so i dont think his camaro can do that

I think you may be getting the camaros mixed up some. Yeah they do run different times, but the difference is some have the LT1 and some have the LS1 engings. The LS1 is almost a second faster stock if not more.

I do know that the GTP can be made to run in the high 12's for a fact thought. I personally dont know anyone with one, but back in Feb. I attended the SLP Customer Appreciation Day In Ennis TX. I did witness several GTP running in the high 12's.

I am not knocking the cobras' they are a nice car, but back beteen 96 - 99 they were slow. I think the stock hp on a cobra was like 275hp, I may be wrong but it wasnt very high. The stock camaro at that time had the same hp.

i dont think the mustangs are all they are cracked up to be, sure they are quick but they are not that Fast.. last night i raced a guy that works at a ford dealership in the town next to mine. it was a 93 5.0 w/ 4.10 gears, headers, dual exhaust, short throw shifter and i just steadily kept pulling away the whole time. So i mean yeah they have get up and go, but they really arent as much as i thought they would be in the long run. P.S here is the pic of the one i raced it is the one with the flames on it.. the other one that is black is my friend's, i havent raced him yet... BTW, yes i have an automatic transmission

maybe they should stick with putting the 5.0 mustang engines in boats....our boat has a 5.0 mustang engine in it, it flies...but yeah, i bet if it were a 5.7 camaro engine, it would be even faster......oh well, only thing to do is race the cobra..and tell us how it goes.

My friends GTP beat a 5.0 mustang. My completely bone stock 95 z-28 ran a 13.7 completely bone stock, sh!tty tires, and sh!tty weather. It also had 15#,### miles on it. My free modded ls-1 steadily put it on a 96' t/a that runs 13.1's-13.2's.
