ya know not every Mustang is junk. I've had my fair share of eating up the likes of you !#*!#*!#*!#*y ppl. know your facts before you judge other ppl. 98 cobras have 305 FLYWHEEL hp (32, and aren't LS1s rated at 325 FLYWHEEL hp? sounds close to me.

dollar for dollar, mustangs are cheaper to make faster. summit lists a Vortech for a 98 Cobra for $3,678.95 where as for a 1998-2000 it is $4,682.95. example right there. i paid $10k for my GT, and you paid what for your z28? and can you even see the back of your engine, let alone reach behind it?

Actually prokiller, LS1s are under rated. Chevy did it so the Corvette C5 owners wouldnt get pissed that they spent double the money for the same engine. They have 305hp at the wheels and more like 350hp to the flywheel. So the LS1s 305hp to the rear wheels compared to a 98 Slobra's 305hp to the flywheel looks like an advantage to the LS1. Just stating a fact.

I would get some mods before I ran a 98 Cobra. A stock GT with 260 hp will do low 14s to high 13s. Remember, a mustang is alot lighter than a Z28.

Yeah, but that supercharger, will get you to the same hp as a stock LS1!!! So who is cheaper, supercharger, or stock???
You take the Mustang if you want to, the only thing you will see are my tailights for a couple of seconds, untill I am so far ahead of you, you can't even see them anymore!!!!

They will run about what an 03 Cobra will. They don't respond as well to mods though. A slightly hopped up Cobra will smoke a slightly hopped up stage 3.

Smile 1998 Camaro SS!

I raced a 98 cobra with my old 96 a4 Z28 with mods, I ran a 13.1 in Texas. I thought i would win against the cobra, but he just kept me at his heels. But that was then! Now he can't keep up! my 98 LS1 SS M6 has him in the dust! Give it a try!

If anyone is interested in what all the new stangs are running, the new Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords has a test of all the new ones as well as a 2 valve 4.6 shootout. The Cobra convertible ran 12.77, the Mach 1 ran 13.1, and the auto equipped GT ran 14.0. The 2 valve cars ran anywhere from low 10's to high 13's. Just FYI.
