Oil?
What kind of oil and what is a good brand to put in my LS1???

Original owner that owned my SS put in Mobil 1, I put in Mobil 1, and every other car I work with I put in Mobil 1.
As far as weight goes, all depends on how many miles are on the engine and if you rod it a lot.

Thanx! that is the oil i was thinkin bout using.. and I live in Hot Weather, so would 5w-30 be good for the LS1.

How many miles are on the engine? If its under 15-20 thousand miles, I would go with 5w-30, but if its more or if you race/rod your engine, I would at least go with 10w-30 or possibly even a little heavier since heavier oil takes a little longer to breakdown than lighter/thinner oil.

mobil 1 is the way to go. I have 60000 miles on mine. I use the 10w-30

Thanx for the replies!! I think i will go with Mobil 1 .... 10w-30 now!! I will be changing my oil when i get time monday.. Thanx again
