I bought an autometer shift light and I'm still trying to decide where to put it also. My main problem is that I bought it from someone second hand and they didn't send the RPM pills. I guess I may have to buy them seperately.

Get the Harlan shift light like I have then put it in the A pillar where the little round vent is. I put mine in behind it and angled the vents to face towards me so only I can see it. It is good for the sleeper look. The Harlan shift light is fully programmable and is only like $35.00.

I agree with Mykdiver on the Harlan shift light. I have the Autometer myself and just mounted it on the A pillar itself and its easy to change the pills out and its right in front of your face so you cant miss it when it comes on
