milage

hey, i baught my car with 126000 miles on it. the owner had all the records for all the services, he never raced it, and the miles were mostly highway. if i can continue to treat my baby the same way he did (with the occational helping of rice), how many more miles can i expect to get out of this engine?

Wheeeew! That's ALOT of miles..gotta be proud of the LS1 for steaming all the way through that. I'd say you'd get up to 200K without anything super major going wrong, just as long as you don't romp it *too* much.

I'm waiting till I hit 150K (I'm at 60K now, got a ways to go), then it's a new crate LS6 engine for me You could use that as an excuse to upgrade your power too

As long as the car is serviced regular and not abused then it will last a long long time. Its hard to say with a LS1 because they are still so new but I think you can expect ATLEAST 200K before seeing any trouble.

I'm just wondering, when did the LS6 engine (454ci big block in 1970 Chevys) become a 350 small block?

the zo6, as far as i know, always had 1s6's just different hp ratings. started out with 385 then went all the way to 405, but they stoped making them in 2004 and the c-6 coupe has a ls2 with 400ponies. by the way the 60's model ls1 and todays are quite different, only real resemblence is hp ratings and performance conotation. same for the ls6's.
