I Smashed It Racing

Well now I have gone and done it. I managed to smash my 01 LS1 racing a Ram Air TA. We were doing our weekly thing here in Flint Mich. which is a little street racing and I was running a great race (beatting him badly) and then I saw the lights of the squad car and so did he. Well he rammed into me as we were both trying to get away and then I t-boned him and managed to hit him hard enough to pull the tyrod out of the spindle. I also tore up the front right fender and the front clip and hood. I feel like such an ass and this is going to be expensive, So all you other lovers of the Z please feel free to chew a piece of my ass.

I don't think we have to chew it.. You already bit it off....Funny thing, there's no cops at the track and if there are they are running their cars.... Stay off the streets too many get hurt or worse.

Anyway real glad your ok

So did you get away from the cops? Or just sit there all broken and still get caught?

WOW! I think the rest of the team pretty much summed it all up. Do you have insurance that will cover the damage or are you going to fix it yourself?

No I did not get away from the police. The TA did and he got it worse then I did I dont know how he got away. He was smashed up badly. I got a drag racing ticket out of it. The spindle is fixed now but I still have to do the body work.

I use to live near flint. Anyways, find him and report him. I usually wouldn't do this to a fellow F-body owner but if he hit you get his butt. There's plenty of evidence and his insurance will have to pay as long as he doesn't go and get the damage fixed before you find him. Hit and run, drag racing, speeding, reckless driving, failure to report accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and evading arrest, these are what the cops can get him for. All you need is his License plate number.

I would agree with you R3D but ol boy rear ended him in the get away and caused the accident and the damage and should be held liable. Sounds like there was some pretty extensive damage and in the least should be found and reported to the insuance company. Iv (knock on wood) havent been in an accident and dont know if you need a police report to claim insurance but if police can be avoided id avoid them to prevent hurt feelings.

WHo cares about hurt feeling. The peckerwood smashed his car. You do need a police report to make an insurance claim. If the police report tells what really happened than your insurance will either not do anything because it was the other drivers responsibility or they'll pay and then go after him. If I were in this same situation reporting him would be the least of his worries. Whoever says not tell on him because it too kindergarten. I'd love to know where they live so I can steal all their crap. I'd get away with it scott free.

You tell em' cooley!! Hell yeah I would report his ass! You don't ram my car and expect me to say nothing. To me that's the same thing as watching your wife or girl friend get raped and do nothing about it!

If you tell the insurance company that you were racing (which is illegal) they can legally deny your claim. I'd hush up about the racing ON LINE.
Mitsubishi is voiding all warrantee work on Evo's that they find out (on line) have been raced (drag or autocross). It's a growing consern to the insurance/automotive industry.

If you just go to the track and race there, there would be no conversation here, no damage would have been done, and your car would not be messed up.
Just a hint, take it to the track!!!!
