arco

someone told me today that arco stations put methanol in their gas. Is this true and if so is methanol bad for anything? He said it builds up cabron deposits. ???

Are you talking about the ethanol that is made from corn? Because if thats what your talking about it is actually a little better because it burns cleaner. I run it in my car daily and have had ZERO problems with any types of build up.

There was this article a while back in hotrod magazine that talked about RFG gas. They put methanol and Ethanol fuel oxygenates. It turns ur vehicles emissions into less harmless Carbon dioxide. It good for cars that are mostly stock. Once u start putting in some bigger engine modifications it lowers ur performance. So it good for the enviornment but bad for ur performance cause it eventually leans out ur fuel so ur car doesn't run at its peak performance.

speaking of fuel (kinda straying away from the topic here, sry 01a4) but what type of fuel do you guys run in your cars? My friend told me to use nothing below 90 octane, which is what I have been using, but would base unleaded provide unhealthy results? ive only had my ride for a week or so, and im just trying to maintain it as best i can.

...back to the discussion at hand, I know that if you ever buy a bad tank of gas ,that has water in it, a cup or so of ethanol will burn the water out. Im not sure if the long term effects of ethanol tho.
