Weak Fuel Pump?

My engine light came on last week and i took it to the chevy dealer and they hooked it up and said that there was a weak fuel pump so they replaced it and it runs fine. Is it true that Camaros have weak fuel pumps?

The only problem I have heard of with camaro fuel pumps is that if you run the car out of gas they are easy to burn up. But never heard of them being weak?

a friend of mine has a '96 z28 and replaced the fuel pump and distributor at 85k just because they were notorious for going out at around that mileage. Im not sure where he heard this from or who told it to him but there might be something to that rumor.
