Stock ratio is 1.7 not 1.6, and you cannot use SBC rocker arms, they are LS1 specific.
You can put them on yourself with a socket wrench in about an hour.

No your stock ratio is not 1.5, it is 1.7. All LS1s are 1.7
LS1 rocker arms are different from SBC rockers, and they are not interchangable. You must get LS1 specific rockers.

Mykdiver is right...

ALL LS1 come from the factory with a 1.7 ratio rocker arm and they are actually quite a bit different from the traditional rockers. If you look at the two side by side you can see the differance pretty easily. I would install the rockers myself. They are not hard to do at all.

Hey Mike, are LS-1 Roller Rockers installed the same way as a traditional engine? Meaning, you bring the engine up on #1 TDC, and install the I&E roller rocker for #1, tighten until there is slight pressure on the push rod, then give between 1/4-1/2 a tun. Turn the crank 90 degrees and repeat the same steps for cyl #8,4,3,6,5,7,2?

Why would you want to go with 1.6 ratio? You would be killing the lift. Also I am not sure that they even make a 1.6 ratio design for the LS-1, I could be wrong though.

Hey bud ...

I just posted a reply on your thread about which cam to go with. IF you change your cam to a bigger cam I would just leave your stock size 1.7 rockers. Most people dont recomend going with the 1.85 rockers if you are going to use a bigger cam because of how agressive the cam lobes ramps are in the LS1's.

But if you arent going to recam the motor both comp cams and SLP offer a 1.85 rocker arm for LS1's and these are good for about 20 hp. Personally I would go with the cam because you will see ALOT more power and not spend that much more money. Either way you HAVE to upgrade the springs, and its a good idea to upgrade the pushrods but not mandatory.

Click on our sponsor link at the top of the page. Thunder Racing, they have the rockers you want. Just tell them what you are doing, and what you want to do. They will let you know what you need.

For rocker arm instllation. Yes, go through the fireing order and torque as you go along.
