Exclamation 05 stang -- Chevy step up!!

I just read an article in motor trend where they tested the new mustang 0-60 in 5.1 on a baseline GT auto...Man Chevy needs to launch a 5th gen instead of worrying about vehicles like the ssr!

I have to agree.....$40k, and all you get is a 5.3? I'd race it w/ our 305!

I hope I can afford payments and insurance on a 5th gen when/if they release it in '07.

The only ones that I have had a chance to take a look at were in Imperial(BFE), Nebraska, and were stickered from $38k+. Probably cheaper when you are closer to the manufacturer, as well as civilization .

OOOOOOH, 5.3 sec 0-60 I'm shaking in my shoes (not). The thing weighs 3500 lbs and only makes 275 RWHP or so. My poor old SS makes 335 RWHP and weighs 3489 lbs. Shizen, I'm really worried about them new Ferd Mestangs.

Man you don't really have to nickle and dime this, cause the good lord knows I have a bowtie in my heart but if you wanna go there- the new mustang gt has the same ol 4.6L engine with 300hp and 315t which is a slightly better ratio than your car 282ci<300hp 350ci>335hp and a curb weight of 3425 which is slightly less than your car and with a price of $26,900 some might even say that it is a slightly better value than your car (i know with the diffrence in price about 3k, i could even make it faster than your car) but im not trying to sit here and be an A hole im just saying don't count it out just yet.
Im still waiting for a 5th gen to come blow it away Chevy please don't let me down! By the way SOMSS you really have a sweet ride!! My favorite color too!

lets not get tunnel vision
it really hurts you in the long run

You guys also have to remember that that 300 hp number is at the flywheel not the rear wheels. SOMSS was giving his RWHP so if you figure in a 15% drivetrain loss his car is making 385 hp at the flywheel. I will reamian skeptical until I see the thing perform. Till then it remains a turd in my eyes (a pretty turd but a turd none the less) I have no doubt that Chevy's new camaro will eat the junkstangs lunch, yet again

Lets see, last year of the F-body 2002. Now 2004 & 2005 stang is now
putting down some HP. Where were they at from 64 to 2002. Need I
say more. GM has been kicking FORDS butt for a long time.

Thanks you very much I never get tired of hearing that!!

Ohh and I agree with realistic. Lets not get him started with all the facts from mustangs yesteryear. Hes like a freaking mustang encyclopedia Im impressed with all his knowledge on those cars. He just has a little trouble admiting that camaros are better hahaha
