dex-cool under investigation

Investigation of DEX-COOL
Girard Gibbs & De Bartolomeo is investigating claims in connection with a proposed class action against General Motors Corporation and Chevron/Texaco Corporation concerning DEX-COOL.

Customers complain that DEX-COOL forms a sludge-like substance that clogs their vehicles' cooling systems causing them to overheat, and that DEX-COOL corrodes all parts of the engine it comes in contact with including the heater core, water pump, hoses, cap, upper and lower intake manifold, thermostat, and engine block.

they said if you've experienced similar problems with DEX-COOL go to this site http://www.girardgibbs.com/dexcool.html

I gotta say I am against this as well....

I been using dex-cool for a while now without any problems.

Now I do know, if you try to mix dex-cool (orange) with antifreeze (green) it will gum up. They will not mix. That is where the problems comes in.

I just sent those idiots some information. But I'm sure GM probably already beat me too it. As in any class action suit the names will be given out and I bet those people will suddenly have a hard time getting services at a GM service center. I would personally like to say that if you have these problems that your a moron and should be on 24/7 surveilance. Why would you dare mix 2 different colored liquids, no matter what it is.

Dexcool is great. It's just phosphate and silicate free so it doesn't eat up your aluminum radiator and heads. Like everyone else said, it's only when you mix the two that the sludge happens. They're meat heads for doing it.

The "early" dex-cool like what my 96 Impala SS came with did in fact crystalize & clog the cooling system.. a short while later the problem was fixed, i'm gonna guess sometime in 97 or 98 possibly a little later. At least thats what I've seen.

If it was in 96 then I don't believe they have any case at all. I would believe that the statute of limitations would be well expired by now.
