OK here we go.
1. If you have a rear defogger there will be little wires running through the back window and the button to turn it on is at the bottom left corner of your heater controls.
2. Ask Ryatt-Motion how to do that, he is da man on body and paint work.
3. As far as what cam you should get depends on alot. Is it a auto or manual, what rear is in it, also how much performance do you want? Is it a daily driver and need to stay that way?
4. avg. gas mileage on a LS1 is 18 give or take a little. It sounds like you arent getting very good gas mileage at all. I would do a complete tune up on the car and have the codes pulled to check if there are any problems. Is the SES light on?

The 4:10's with that auto is killing your gas mileage. Go to 3:73 or 3:42 for better gas milage.

Can you tell me what the issue is with your paint that requires restoration of the paint, is it faded, peeling etc?

Hey Rodney!! If there is a performance shop around you that sells stuff like that then they would either call it a "rear end girdle" or a "Performance rear end cover" The stud kit that goes in screw into your main caps on the rear end replacing the factory bolts. This helps to stiffen the caps up so they dont deflect. Then the girdle botls onto the back and has little studs that push on the caps to further stiffen everything up. I got mine from Thunder Racing, they were the cheapest place I could find and they are a site sponser. I think its a mod thats well worth the money.

Heres the link to the TR one... http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=3&pcid=210

I was surprised when I bought mine the dealer asked me if I wanted a rear defroster. Apparently it is (or unfortuntely "was") an optional item. Living up here it is almost a "must have". I had some trouble with mine a couple days ago. The defroster and power seat share a 30 amp fuse. It is not a standard ATC fuse but encased in a metal housing. Turned on the defroster, went to adjust the seat and nothing. Looked down, rear defroster is off. hit the button a couple times - nothing. Pulled over, got out manual, found fuse, burned fingers trying to pull fuse out. Very spooky.
Left it out and drove home. Reinstalled and for the moment it seems O.K. but with that thing drawing enough current to burn my fingers I am very concerned! Think there may be an intermittant short to ground. Woo hoo. I do not want to melt my Z!

I missed some options too. But just finding a Z28 in July of 2002 up around here was damn near impossible. They had to bring mine up from Massachusetts.

Yeah, my 02 SS doesn't have the defogger either. I thought about seeing how hard it was to retrofit because it can be a real chore to see out that back window when the car has been sitting outside for a while in the cold.

To fix the paint, I recommend first getting a Zaino starter kit. I would clay wash the car and give it 3 coats of Z-5 swirl remover and 3 coats of Z-2 polish. That should make it look nice and electric!!
