ok guys, i need your pro input here. i took my 96 blazer to local garage (i've been doing bizz with him for about 2 years) anyway, the guy who inspected the blazer is new. older guy from north carolina. i was chatting with him telling him what i want to do with my 00 z. he states that he runs a 90 z at a local drag strip, so he knows the 350's pretty well. i told him i want more power. he said, with a chip, air intake, headers and cat backs, i should get from 70 to 100 hp increase. he said he knows how to tune. he then said if ya want more yet, cam in heads are the way to go. he was quoting me stuff from jegs, magnaflow, slp etc for exhaust and headers. i'm just wondering if i can get that much hp gains. thanks guys.

yes you can hes right if you want i have an slp loud mouth for sale it will put you up at 20 to 25 hp with just the slp loud mouth alone i got one brand new if you want one ill take 320 bucks for it

the exhaust ss is it for lt1 or ls1

You wont see anywhere near 70 hp from just exhaust and induction mods. To get that kind of gain you need exhaust, induction, cam, and a good tune. Anniversary Z just did all this and pickep up 80 rwhp. From what you say he told you it looks like he prob. has a rough idea of what hes talking about but dosnt know LS1's very well. Our cars also dont have a "chip". What you do is get a hand help programmer. I dont know about any of the others but the Hypertech dosent work with headers, so if you get header even shorties, stay away from hypertech.

Just for a HP referance. Most guys on here with LT headers a good cat back and some induction stuff are puting down 330 rwhp range. Thats about a 30-40 hp increase over stock. VERY impressive gains but not quite 70.

so what if he knows 350's pretty well. You don't have a 350. The last year that our cars had a 350 was in 97. The LS1 is a 346. Even the 93-97 350's are way different than what he says he thinks he knows. If he knew his 350's well enough he should also know better than to try and give advice on something he obviously doesn't know about. I would stay away from him. That's just me though. My old boss pulled somewhere in the 350rwhp range from LT's and straight pipes. he then put on some LQ9 6.0 heads and a cam with other valvetrain goodies and put out I believe it was 460 something rwhp!!!! His car is bad @ss!!!!

You also must be careful though when you start building power with our cars. The rear ends will not handle power, even factory power when you hook up right. Also watch the tranny!!!!
