mirror

Hey guys I was wondering how much would it cost to paint my driver side mirror. I had to get a new one cause i accidently broke the plastic braket inside that make the mirror swivel. I was just drying off the mirror one day after washing my car and i guess i pushed to hard on it and it snaped bracket. So i went to the dealership and they said i had to but the whole unit. So for right now i have a black car with this ugly plastic grey colored mirror. I was wondering if maaco would do an alright job since its just the mirror but i dont know.

biggest cost will be the paint. If u can find some mom & pop body shop, tell them u want to get ur mirror painted to match the body, and that u will install the mirror and pay cash.

also - make sure the shop is in a low "cost-of-living" area - the difference is huge in labor rates.

u could use replicolor spray paint, but that's kinda ghetto.

im an auto body tech in new jersey. the body shop would probably buy a pint of color...about 30 bucks with the activator and hardener, quart of clear because that is the lowest amount of clear you can get.. thats about 50 or 60 bucks with the activator...so thats about 80 or 90 for just paint...and they will probably charge you an hour for paint/prep..about 60 bucks..so your looking at least 150..give or take..some guys might prime coat the mirror..it all depends..

Well i would do it myself if i had a gun. I have experience with painting cause i had a class in high school were thats all we did all year was pulling dints useing plasctic filler and painting cars. My work was the best in my class but i dont have a gun or know anybod that has one or i would do it my self. I also know how to mix everything too but again i dont have the measuring cups either. I should probably just take it to my old high school and have them paint for 30 bucks or ask him if i could use his guns and use his paint for free.
