Thank you both.

I was looking for a SS with the manual gearbox, but here in The Netherlands we have only 6 Z28 Camaros, wich one of them is the SS 6 speed. So I am happy with my red Z28 auto, maby in the future I can have chance to buy me a sixspeed. My C5 was a manual too.

The first I did was too look for some wheels and tires, I found the new Dunlop Sport Max in the sizes 305x30x19 and 255x35x18 I think this must fit. What do you think?

Also I was wondering if I could use the corvette Z06 red calipers, are there modifications needed?

Ofcourse the Z28 has to be lowered, I saw Eibach spring wich lowers the car almost 2" and some adjustible koni's, wich I also used on my corvette. Are the better idea's?

Then I found a Hurts console shifterkit, wich lookes awsome........does have somebody has some experience with this item?

Wooowww........lots of questions........and I even did not discuss the performance issue.

First, I wouldn't put Dunlop on my car. And the tires will fit in the wheel wells, but you got to get 18's and 19's to squeeze them on.

Well, you have Corvette brakes now. I feel sure you could put the Z06 calipers on there, but don't hold me to that statement.

Don't lower the car more than 1.5 inches. It throws off the handling of the car. I seriously warn you away from lowering it more. Eibach is good as are Koni.

I have no experience with the Hurst shifter but if it says Hurts its gotta be good. Isn't that a Smucker's commercial? LOL! Anyhow, hope I help you out a little bit.

What do you mean with squeeze? Does the tire fit difficuld on the rims or difficult under the car?

Don't you know where I can look for the modification? Maby a friend of you knows?

Are there different options with Eibach? The set I saw has a 1,75" drop in the front and a 2" drop in the rear. What would happen when I lower the car more than that? To much weight in the front?

Doesn't B&M make something? Do you know what kind of type transmission is under my car?

don't worry you can lower the car two inches, but then I would get lower control arms, lower control arm relocation brackets, sub frame connectors, panhard bar, strut tower brace.

Mine is lowered two inches with the Eibach sport lines springs with those mods and a few more and it handles like a dream!!

I drove it for a little over a year lowered two inches with no suspension mods, it drove good, didn't have much of any traction in 1st or 2nd gear, but I also had put 410's in before I did anything else.

Also if you lower it you should get an adjustable torque arm to correct and adjust your pinion angle.

I'm not sure about SPOHN, (just haven't tried any), but I know BMR makes good stuff.

I would recommend (by experience) that if you want a two inch dropp to skipp the Eibachs and just get you QA1's adjustable coil overs. I believe that MTI has them listed for the full set at $750, they are worth the extra money!!

Oh, and welcome to the site!

Thx for the welcome, I hope to have lots of fun here. Do you also have a "road kill" section? Place to tell about your street/strip engagements?

The coilovers.....do you use them yourself?

Thx for the advise. I also have thouht of this, that's the reason I will use Eibach and adjustible koni's. I have lowerd several cars, like Alfa and corvettes. Also did I used a three way coilover system once and droped my corvette until 3" abouve the ground. I will show pics of this car when I find the time. But..thx anyway.

Well, usually when you do anything to the suspention its going to ride like a tank. Your trying to stiffen up the suspention, you know? I am fully prepared for the rough ride I will receive when all is said and done. I still have my issues with dropping more than 1.5 inches. It really messes with the geometry of the car. I'm not saying its going to steer like an aircraft carrier, it would just perform at optimum at 1.5 inches. All though I find it interesting they have a bigger drop in the back. Trying to get that weight over the rear axle I assume.
