Wide Wheels

I would like to put and 18X10 wheels on all 4 corners of my 02 Z28. What offset and backspacing will I need for this to work? Also What offset and backspacing would work on a 18X9 wheel?

Im not sure that you can run a 18 x 10 on the front. I am running a 18 x 9.5 on the front with a 275 wide tire and it just barely rubs the inner fender well. I cant really remember what my backspacing is but im thinking like 53-55 mm

Question mini tubs?

I also looked for the huge wheels and tire setups. I also see several guys with 295 on the rear. I think 275 in the front is the max.

Is there any difference between 1998 and 1997 body's for space in the tubs?

I also saw one guy who has minitubs welded.

I also saw 315 in the rear and one guy with a FB who has 335 in the rear, he used coilovers.

Is there someone who sells minitubs?

I dont think that there are any difs between the 97-98 models but I would ask someone who has more experience with LT1 cars.

I think you can use up to a 11 in wide wheel in the rear with only minor mods. Mini tubing a car is a big job. I dont know of anyone who sells mini tubs for f bodies but I would ask Mykdiver. I know hes building a car like that so he may know more about that end.

Is it wise to run such big tires in the front? If you look at highperformance roadcar you see 275 as the max, a lambo uses 245 in the front.

I do it so I can rotate them, It doesn't rub the inner plastic anymore than my stock did.

Well it will rub slightly but not really enough to matter. And it is only going to rub when the wheel is turned all the way. Youll be at low speed doing that (I hope) so even if it does rub a little it wont hurt the fender well liner.
